Quotation from the Queens Christmas 2011 Speech:
“God sent into the world a unique person – neither a philosopher nor a general, important though they are, but a Saviour, with the power to forgive.”
The Queens robing room was the first stop on our trip around the Houses of Parliament and the first room where we were able to stop, pray and declare God’s goodness. It felt very significant to be there, in a place that has seen so much history, so many leaders of our nation, good and bad. We said prayers blessing her with strength and health, for wisdom as the Head of the Church of England and that she would be filled with the Holy Spirit. If we believe in the power of prayer then it is logical to make links between what was prayed by our children that day and the boldness with which Queen Elizabeth declared the power of Jesus to save and prayed that, “on this Christmas day we might all find room in our lives for the message of the angels and for the love of God…”
